📌 Eligibility Criteria

To become a PalFish teacher, you should meet the following requirements:

• Age – Must be at least 18 years old.

• Nationality – Native English speaker from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, or New Zealand.

• Equipment – A modern smartphone or tablet with a reliable internet connection is necessary.

• Teaching Certification – You need a TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certificate.

Teaching Certification – How to Get One! (Yes, this part is an investment but it will be worth it.)

• The Coursera pricing model is changing from pay per course to a monthly subscription but if cost is an issue, I recommend applying for financial aid.

💰 Pay Structure

• Starts at ¥35 per class and increases up to ¥50 per class.

• Your pay level is determined by the number of classes you taught in the previous month.

• There are five levels—the more classes you teach, the higher your level (and pay) will be.

• You control your own pay – Teach more to earn more!

• I consistently hit Level 5, making about $2,000/month when I last worked on PalFish.

• Payments are made through Payoneer, an American company similar to PayPal. I am always paid on time.

📌 The Hiring Process

Stage 1: Set Up Your Profile, ID Verification, and Use My Inviter Code (26824092 - you must set your inviter before becoming an OKC teacher, so do it right away).

Stage 2: Mock Class & Quiz

✅ Finish boot camp training (self-paced, up to 2 weeks).

Stage 4: Probationary Classes (Unpaid Training)

✅ Teach two probationary classes.

🛍 Things You Need to Invest In (Some Required!)

To be fully prepared and set up for success, here are the must-have items:

✅ A Blue Shirt – Any shade of blue is allowed (even patterns), but I recommend a solid royal blue shirt with at least a cap sleeve and a neckline that comes up to your collarbone.

✅ Freddy the Fish (PalFish Mascot) Printed Out – Required for your background. Any version of Freddy from any year is fine—even with a costume!

✅ Props, Puppets & Decorations – Make your backdrop colorful and engaging!

• Suggestions: map, the alphabet, or fun characters like Disney princesses and Superheroes.

• At least one stuffed animal or puppet.

• A reward system – Many teachers use stickers or clothespin characters.

✅ Smartphone or Tablet – You cannot teach from a computer.

✅ Stable Internet Connection – A strong WiFi or Ethernet connection is crucial.

✅ Earbuds or a Headset – Not required, but recommended to:

• Minimize background noise.

• Prevent audio loop/feedback issues.

• Look more professional.

✅ A Quiet Teaching Space – PalFish has strict standards for your teaching environment. Avoid:

🚫 Pets, children, or background noise.

✅ Good Lighting – No shadows on your face!

✅ A Stand for Your Phone or Tablet – Your device must be positioned:

• At eye level.

• With your head and shoulders centered.
